For sure, but they're not "leftists" or even "socialists."

I'm speculating based on the available information, which is the exact same thing anyone does in a political discussion.

I think Cals may be right about them being a bunch of homeless drug addicts with nothing better to do. They probably got some worthless liberal degree that won't get them a job but they learned how evil America is and how we are the worst country on the planet.

You know this for a fact?

He didn’t make it a statement of fact like you did

I'm starting to see that sometimes my posts come off as me saying, "This is how it is" rather than "This is what I think." I'll try to clarify when I'm just giving an opinion.

My wife is from Oregon and when we were dating we would go to Portland for weekend trips a lot.  The streets were always filled with tons of homeless drug-addicted young people, who would often harass people, including my and my wife. They just kind of loitered around being hooligans.  I would find it quite coincidental that there is now a small army of anarchists in Portland if it was not this same group of young people, who apparently have been there for many years.  It just makes too much sense to not assume that it's the same people. But I don't know 100% for sure.

I'm sure this type of demographic is common in Portland.
