I think Cals may be right about them being a bunch of homeless drug addicts with nothing better to do. They probably got some worthless liberal degree that won't get them a job but they learned how evil America is and how we are the worst country on the planet.

I'm starting to see that sometimes my posts come off as me saying, "This is how it is" rather than "This is what I think." I'll try to clarify when I'm just giving an opinion.

My wife is from Oregon and when we were dating we would go to Portland for weekend trips a lot.  The streets were always filled with tons of homeless drug-addicted young people, who would often harass people, including my and my wife. They just kind of loitered around being hooligans.  I would find it quite coincidental that there is now a small army of anarchists in Portland if it was not this same group of young people, who apparently have been there for many years.  It just makes too much sense to not assume that it's the same people. But I don't know 100% for sure.

We spent the weekend in Portland for our anniversary in 2019. We had a nice time and only saw like two homeless people. The weirdest person we saw was an Asian chick walking around with an open book on her head.

South Block Parks are chock-full of junkies and losers. Those assholes were already ruining the city well before the riots started. It sucks because Portland has potential but as of now it's a shithole.
