People need to focus more on going to class and trying to get laid in college. Not sure what happened in the last fourteen years since I last went but priorities seemed to have changed.

College has changed to be a place to develop our future SJW leaders

College has become a right, and no longer a privilege.  So instead of picking apples from the top of the tree.  You have a bunch of apples that were on the ground.

And often raccoon turds end up in the basket as well. Most of these end up in public education

High education skus but not for the Tucker Carlson-esque reasons any of you are saying.

It's because of how capitalism and profit have become the driving forces for schools. Students paying ridiculous prices for everything from tuition to textbooks because of our country's boner for monetizing everything.

The availability of infinite student loans has made the problem worse. Yet, unless you're a rich legacy student or athlete, or you're one of the lucky poor kids who gets in on an academic scholarship, student loans are necessary for going to college.

When I went back 30 years ago, it was either loan, work, or save if you wanted to go to college.  It seems things have changed and they want it for free like everything else now.

Yeah, because the price of college hasn't increased since you went three decades ago. Have you looked at the cost of tuition at UCLA lately? Heck, even UC Riverside.

And it's still not much today.  Problem is, everyone thinks they are entitled to that education.

You're ignoring reality if you don't think the cost of education has increased exponentially more than the rise of inflation.

Things aren't exactly the same today as they were when you were young. Some things are way easier today, some things are way harder. Some things are cheaper, some are more expensive. Unless you're someone who has attended college in the last 10 years, you really don't have anything to say on this subject.

There's one 20s/30s person here (it may have been MAGA) who was able to get through college at CSUF by working and didn't incur any debt. That's one data point. There are plenty more data points of students who have to go into deep debt to get a college degree.

Whether or not human beings are entitled to higher education is a difference of philosophy, not a difference in character and integrity, like you're implying.

Why does it costs so much?
