yeah.  It's not like a different GM signed a different guy.  How could this be different.

IT'S ONE YEAR SO IT'S THE SAME!!!

literally all the arguments for Quintana are the same that were for Teheran

Innings Eater

Stability

Track record

Affordable one year

I maintain if we also acquire a 1 or 2 type SP then I like this deal.

Otherwise our big SP acquisition is someone who has been downtrending for several years, hasn't been great since 2016, and missed last year due to injury.

I would then reserve your judgement until we sign a #1 or #2 pitcher then.

This team has a chance to really get back atop the AL West. The A's lost their closer and their top-3 MVP candidate in 2019 and the Astros' talent depth has departed or is injured (Verlander).

Time to make a move, NOW! Wait for it dude.

I still don't get how that's relevant unless they signed the exact same guy.

We went into the offseason agreed needing a 1 or 2 type SP.

We've watched several find homes.

Now we've acquired a mid/bottom rotation type SP and are trying to convince ourselves it's a good deal.

Beginning of off-season if we had a poll asking if we'd be happy with Quintana being our big SP acquisition the results would be pessimistic.

I'm holding on to Bauer has minimal suitors and we'll get him on a deal that Arte is happy with.

Selling me on Quintana is better than Teheran won't get be there.
