If the Angels offered Trout a ton of money but he elected to test FA and sign with the Phillies, I would probably curse Philly and disown Trout. 

I'm an Angels fan first,  players come a distant second, but Trout is so special that it would hurt really bad if he left, so it would be really hard for me to root for him if he divorced himself from my team.

It would be tough to stomach if I felt the Angels made the offer necessary and he still rejected them.  

As far as hating teams.  I wouldn’t blame the Phillies or any team for going after Trout.  I’ll always despise the Red Sox and Dodgers above all.

I’ll also say that if the fuc*king hell world of Mike Trout in a Dodger uniform ever came to pass.   That would be like blood boiling enraging shit.  I’m not sure I could tolerate that.

I wouldn't "hate" the Angels, but it might take a year or two to recover, and for that first Trout-less year it would be hard to follow the team. But I was a fan in the 80s and 90s so am hardened to all kinds of bullshit and heartache, so I'd eventually get over it and enjoy the 2023 outfield of Marsh-Adams-Adell.

Red Sox always and it's because of their fans, not the franchise.  Yankees are a distant second for me.  Guess I would root for the Phils if Trout were to sign or is traded there, but then Harper is there and I couldn't do that!

Well I definitely wouldn’t blame Trout. The Angels are doing this to themselves. 

I would just hope we’d trade him before seeing him walk away and get nothing in return.

If the Angels F this up and lose Trout when they had a chance to give him a lifetime contract, he signs with the phils, wins a championship with them while we continue to hover around mediocre then I'm not sure who I'm gonna be pissed at.
