No it’s not what I’m doing.  I think that anyone who goes and does a job for someone else’s business should treated with dignity and appropriately compensated.  That’s to say, they should be paid in way that doesn’t ensure poverty. If the ice cream person can’t do that then they can spend the day in their shop scooping the ice cream themselves.

We all love in n out here.  It’s a great experience because the workers care about their jobs.  Maybe it’s good for the owner as well when you have a worker who feels like they have some skin in the game.  Just burger flippers tho.  Fuck them amirite ? Outrageous they’re treated with respect.

Were the employees being treated without dignity? Should they set their own pay scales? 

The owner has the right to set the wages. The employees then decides if they are willing to work for that scale. 

The owner doesn't owe them anything more than that.

The labor/capital relationship in this country is so fucking tilted the last 40 years that these “owners” seriously think that some wrong is being done to them because finally and temporarily people have the slightest leverage against them.  Truly indecent.
