Because I am the minority here and I still think Scioscia is a pretty good manager and any replacement we get would do not better.

 

Second, Moreno has gone through great lengths to capture the Los Angeles fan base away from the Dogs.  That would completely blow up in his face if Scioscia were to leave the Angels and win a WS with the Dogs.

The Dodgers are built for Scioscia style while the Angels are not. If we fire him, the Dodgers will hire him and they will be going to the playoffs.

This would never happen and it makes no sense for either team really. Scioscia is the best out of the bunch anyways.

Unfortunately for this particular deal, this is true.

 

However, if you can get good prospects for Sosh, you go for it.  Manuel's contract expires at the end of the year, so they can just let him walk and look for someone else in the off-season.  Replacing Sosh with Manuel isn't necessarily giving up on the season, even if they plan on letting him walk after the season.
