Really, doesnt it all come down to the injuries? If we had even half our pitching staff, we would probably have been able to overcome the Valbuenas and the Martes and the Kole slump.

Was wondering.  Being on the 60 day DL, is Richards eligible for a qualifying offer ? Probably not I figure.  Also probably not worth risking giving him one if he is.

My understanding is guys are no longer on the 60 day DL during the off season, they would need to be on the 40 man roster.

Ok, so Kinsler will be a 3.5 WAR player this year.  Upton will be about a 4 WAR player this year.  Ohtani will be a 3 WAR player this year.  Valbuena sucks and Cozart wasn’t around long enough to find out if he sucks.  You know the team is rebuilding with the farm.

Josh Reddick makes Valbuena money, at the time we needed an outfielder so he would have been OK, absolutely better value then Valbuena.  Anyway we got Valbuena and we ended up with Upton.  Whether we’re better off or not is debatable. I think we are.

Plus I think Eppler is highly motivated to make a big trade to get one more top of the line guy.  When the time is right.

I'm not giving up on Cozart. He will end up being better than Valbuena at third......which, admittedly, isnt saying much. But I think the guy can still hit. He showed flashes of it this year.

We better hope he can. He will be our starting 3rd baseman next year.
