Immediately cancels nonexistent LA Times subscription…

1) Fatburger

Carls and McDs don't deserve to be up there but I'd argue Fatburger has (or used to have) the best fast food burgers.  Freddy's is also fantastic.

Anyone try Mooyah yet? I live very close to it but I notice there's one in Irvine and Monrovia as well.  Their sweet potato fries are something else.

Sweet potato fries make me want to vomit.

But those burgers look tasty.

The meat has never been the strong suit in In-N-Out burgers, but the tangy ketchup-mustard-mayo-pickle combo of the special sauce has always rendered that point fairly moot. Once possibly the best deal in fast food, a Double-Double is not as cheap as it once was — it’s now more than $5 at the location near me — but it’s still a bargain. Just skip the fries.

Pretty good article actually.

Glad to see Freddy's make the top 3. I never heard of Freddy's until I moved here and the California Style is a decent substitute for INO. Good burger, good fries.

Not sure I agree with Carl's at #2. Seems to me that there's a lot of variation between locations. I've been to some Carl's that were consistently great and others (like the one near me here) that is consistently mediocre.
