With all due respect it seems like you’re portraying the Angels organization as a relaxed no pressure to win just turn the page environment.

?

In Boston and New York, if you don’t win, you’re gone! I like that in an organization. They don’t take fail lightly.

If that's his portrayal, he is wrong.

They don't take fail lightly because they can throw wads of cash at their problems.

Boston seems to be accepting Price, Pomeranz, Bradley and Vasquez are failing and they continue to run them out on the field. Since their 17-2 start, the Red Sox are playing .500 ball

Yes, I do agree with you as well about going for the biggest contract for players.  Obviously if we offer a player a 2 year, 20 mil deal, and a crappy team offers them a 4 year, 80 million deal, well yeah, no contest.  But think of it from your own perspective - would you rather work for a positive, flexible employer who maybe pays you a bit less, or a more rigid, notorious employer who will pay you more but will suck to work for and be constantly stressed?  Everyone's different, but I'll take a bit less pay for a more positive, upbeat, friendly environment.

Well, everything being basically equal financially for all 30 MLB clubs, Ohtani chose to play here. That has to tell you something.

I'm not going to continue to go out of my way to defend them or anything, and I agree with you that there is certainly cause for concern, but I do think they have a pretty good shot at rebounding next year.  They have a strong farm system and financial wiggle room once again, which is a good combination to have for any team.  What they ultimately do with it though, we will see.

Woohoo, I won!!!

jk. I know what you're saying and I'm not predicting doom & gloom for the dodgers, especially since they can throw cash at any problem. I just don't see their immediate future as rosy as you see it.

Something felt pretty dirty about defending the Dodgers, so I had to put an immediate cease and desist to my efforts ;)

Cheers man, all in good fun.  For the record, I do think they're done for the year.  They have dug too big of a hole to recover from, especially since their best position player isn't returning and best pitcher's health is in serious question.

For the record, I am not portraying us as a team that does not care about winning and accepts mediocrity.  I do not think that in the slightest.  But you can have a pleasant, upbeat environment while simultaneously push super hard to do well.  That is the environment I feel we have currently - we are contenders and expect to win, but we aren't miserable in trying to achieve that outcome.  Guys seem to be happy to play here, and the FO sounds like a good place to work for (although that is just my outside perspective, who knows really?).

I would immediately kick Sosh upstairs in some kind of meaningful capacity. Give Girardi an interim Managers position and see how it goes. Eppler and Girardi have a working history together. It can’t hurt because you still have Sosh actively in the organization.

With the team once again in losing mode, I don't see anything to argue with in your scenario.

It's time for him to go. Past his time, in fact. A new perspective is needed. No more uninspired, unfocused, frustrating, lacking-fundamentals, no-accountability baseball.

19 years in the dugout is enough! Yeah, send him upstairs.

Oh, I know you weren't. I was pointing out that his characterization of what you wrote was incorrect, as usual.

So when we win 4 in a row you'll be advocating him continuing as manager?

Look at the Rays as a perfect example of a team that's responding to their manager and playing above their talent level. Their offense is an absolute joke, yet they're scrappy and and they're about to sweep us at home. They'll probably finish within 5 games of us this season.

Or our starting pitcher had a bad inning coupled with an error.

This entire series (hell, the last 30 games or so) has been one of our pitchers taking a shit coupled with an error coupled with the offense striking out 3 straight times on pitches outside the zone. The Rays will be .500 after tonight.
