I havent sat and watched too many games the last year, busy with work etc. Seeing simmons, maybin and valbuena at the plate after that home run was kind of weird. Off the top of my head, simmons (second year here) is the 4th most senior position player in the team now, right?

Escobar would be tied with him, so only 2 (LF & 2B) of the 7 came after Simmons.

I don't disagree.  But, is Trout and his agent willing to even talk right now?

I've changed my mind on this and don't believe they should approach Trout this year. Leave him alone. He's playing in another dimension right now. You don't want to mess with that and chance any anxiety getting into his mind over a contract.

Just let this amazing year continue its course.

Speaking of Trout, he's batting .350 and currently sports a .368 BABIP. Last year it was .371. His strikeout and walk rates are basically normal for his career, though he is striking out less overall.

This fucking guy, man.

We may be seeing the next evolution. He may actually be a .350/.450/.700 guy in peak form. And he hasn't really let up from that line all year, almost two months.

It's definitely possible. I mean, the safe bet is to say he'll start slowing down (like Harper and Zimmerman have) but he's just getting better.

Tourt's only 25 and just entering into the typical best years.

Babe Ruth from age 25-29 was a demon. .370/.511/.777.

He tapered off after that just a little. Age 30-34 seasons, a line of .340/.463/.702.

Interesting though that his HR and RBI totals over these two five-year periods were practically the same.
