Your post did contain a lot of hyperbole.  I think you know that.

Disagree. I think respectfully mt that Strad is not seeing what I am seeing and hearing. I've been deeply following this for close to a year now and there are elements to this that some may not be connecting the dots on.

Thanks for not being snarky, I do actually appreciate the respectfulness in your response.

Antifa is the tagline for antifascists...the folks running around wearing Guy Fawkes masks. Personally, I'm not sure how being called antifascists is a bad thing...but whatever floats ones boat.

Anti First Amendment.

Agreed on your second point.

I guess we'll need to have them settle this in the pit to determine who is right.

I think a lot of us have been following the story.  I appreciate your zealousness regarding this subject but, respectfully, the 'I know stuff that the rest of you don't' sounds arrogant and very similar to the kind of language that helped get this orange clown elected president.

Making comparisons to anything at this point is premature.  Does it seem shady?  Absolutely.  Is it probably shady?  Yep.  Is it the worst thing a president has done?

I don't think so.

I like @ettin's baseball posts but man that post reads like Trump is literally Hitler.

As I mentioned above I don't think the average American understands the threat and danger this country is in right now. I've voted both Republican and Democrat since I came of voting age and I would describe my politics as mixed but what is happening right now has so many layers of filth in it that everyone should be afraid of the implications and the road we're traveling down.

Trump is not Hitler.... yet. At every step so far the Russians and Trump, their surrogate, have been ahead of the U.S. intelligence community. If you don't start considering the possibilities and what any man, when backed into a corner, will do to preserve their livelihoods, including unthinkable acts, then you aren't someone who manages risk well. Certainly, just like in baseball, there are varying probabilities of events occurring but if you don't even consider those possibilities you'll always be caught off guard if and when they happen.

I'm sure some here read that post and thought I'm going off a cliff. I could definitely be wrong. It is my opinion that there is an inferno burning in the White House right now and the scope and breadth of the treason being committed at this moment has never been seen in the history of the United States (or at least as far as I remember from my U.S. history lessons).

Blow this Trump scandal off at your own peril. The #MAGA peeps should be the most careful because a lot of them will go down with the captain on the sinking ship.

Sorry if you felt I was being arrogant that is absolutely not the way I meant it but I can see how you read it that way so my sincere apologies mtangelsfan. I've always respected your opinions. I merely meant it as I have been following this very carefully and consider myself generally more aware than the average American (of which you and others may not be I have no idea).

I didn't think you meant to sound that way.  I am still just pissed that we ended up with the president we have and from talking to many conservatives who are my friends, (mainly due to where I live) I can tell you that perceived arrogance and disdain for the viewpoint of conservatives were a large factor in Trump being voted for.

Even before he became the Republican nominee I knew he was a man of poor moral character and almost never articulated any of his potential policies beyond the sound bits like "I'll build a big, beautiful wall!" or "Make America Great Again!". It was crystal clear to me that Trump had no deep knowledge or understanding of a large variety of issues. For me personally those factors combined with his comments on Mexicans, Muslims (of which my wife is one), women ("Grab 'em by the pussy!"), and a whole host of other jabs and one-liners made it very difficult for me to understand how anyone, much less Conservatives, could cast a vote for him. There were a dozen other Republican candidates that were varying degrees better than Donald (some a lot more than others). By voting Trump in the Conservatives in this nation have dealt a serious blow to their party and future elections (assuming we don't make the full turn towards Autocracy).

Personally I don't have disdain for Conservative viewpoints, everyone has a right to believe in the set of principles they want to live by. I believe in some of those principles particularly related to business growth. This election cycle only worsened the divide you mention above and the perceptions on both sides. Right now there are some Democrats who will "never forgive" Trump voters for putting Donald in power (and they will never understand how we got to this point in history). There are MAGA Republicans who will ignore even the most vile things Trump does because they have a vision of a different United States. The divide between the two parties is huge and the funny thing is that both sides are creating an environment for one or more new parties to grow that will fill that void and speak to the middle of the bell curve if Trump and his cronies are subdued and arrested (otherwise the worst nightmare will come true).

Finally I think the Democratic party did a horrible job of speaking to working Americans which used to be their specialty. Trump made wild promises (that he still hasn't kept for the most part) to them that he'd help them keep their jobs and it worked, in part, because the Democrats let him run roughshod over those parts of the country, comfortable in the thought that they had the race tied up.

The result is Traitor Trump in the White House raping not only the U.S. but other countries around the world. $500,000 to buy a Visa in China? Crooked. Dropping trade sanctions against China after they approved several Trump trademark cases there? Crooked. Using his title of POTUS to receive building permits in Uruguay to build a new Trump tower? Crooked. Firing the FBI Director in charge of investigating possible collusion between the POTUS and Russia? REALLY Crooked.

Clearly we're on the same page regarding Trump I just want people to understand that Russia does not care about the welfare of Americans. Hell they don't care about the welfare of Russians to a large degree. They will dismantle their former Cold War nemesis and laugh the whole time while they do it. I just hope that every American citizen cares enough to put the country first and party second.
