As the 2017 season draws closer, it is time to predict who the AW whipping boy for the 2017 season will be. With the departure of CJ Wilson, there is now a job opening.

Scioscia and Pujols have earned exemptions since their perennial byes put them in a category of their own.

My money would have been on newcomer Danny Espinosa, but I have a feeling that Huston Street's injury situation may have pushed him to the front of the line.

CJ Cron because he won't hit enough home runs as a 1st baseman, he will be of and on the DL and compared to Kotchman without a glove.

I'll vote for the catchers. Neither will hit much and what they do well doesn't show up game to game. It's a small advantage on each pitch. Not only that but a lot of the credit will go to the pitchers.

Compare that with what we got from Bandy last season and it will be a stark contrast. Even if what Bandy did was unsustainable this year, his last season will be the bench mark.

Bandy was a 1 WAR player. Beating that is like beating the pygmy high jump record and sadly it may hold up.

Artie Marino. Because every time an angel player strikes out with the bases loaded to end the game someone will say that Artie should have emptied his pockets and purchased one of the available free agents. Someone like Justin Turner, Dexter Fowler, Yoenis Cespedes, or Edwin Encarnacion. Or if our bullpen falters and loses a game, Artie will get the blame for being cheap and not signing Kenley Jansen, or Aroldis Chapman.
