Great strikeout rates with reasonable walk rates but he has a HR problem. Fairly good splits too.

i'd prefer they not even acknowledge his existence. he has good whip numbers in the minors, but in a limited 34 innings of mlb his whip is a brutal 1.47. that's a lot of advancing runners, ouch.

he's 25 with 34 major league innings.  I think I'll give him a pass on not being ultra dominant in what amounts to his first go as a major leaguer.

WHIP is a poor stat to judge a pitcher on such a small sample size. 1.47 is hardly "brutal" either. It's bad, but not overly so. Bedrosian had a 1.77 WHIP in 33 IP in 2015.

that's fair enough. i'd just much rather see the angels sign a reliever that's currently having success in the major leagues.

i'll respectfully disagree that whip is a poor stat to judge a pitcher by. i openly acknowledged that 34 innings really isn't much to judge a kid's potential, but 1.47 is really bad and 1.77 is atrocious.

like i said to doc, i'd just much prefer they sign actual major league relievers.

I really hope the Angels go after this guy -- former closer at LSU, the classic FB/Slider RP mix..  Easily could turn into a 7th inning guy and go up from there.   Yeah sign a couple established guys -- but get this guy and lay in some pieces to grow with too.

I'm all for it. Our pen really struggled getting strikeouts recently. Even if we had to sacrifice some wildness for it, I'd be all for adding someone who has some serious swing and miss ability, and Goody would fill that.
