So these dickheads bust up private property and are forced to pay damages on the spot. Now,  I'm not saying the security forces are clean in this,  no telling if they pocketed the cash (most likely) but the defiant little douche is lucky he didn't the  teach this asshole a lesson response when he refused to get on the ground.

US women's 4x100 relay team dropped the baton on an exchange earlier this morning. They immediately protested that a Brazilian runner went into their lane and bumped Allison Felix as she was attempting to make the exchange. Felix directed the other American to pick up the baton and finish the race, knowing that they had to finish the race if they had any chance of being successful on the appeal. 

Just announced that the US' appeal was successful and they will run a time trial alone tonight to see if they will advance to the finals. That's going to be a bit strange

The biggest disaster was NBC's TV coverage. The streaming was fine, better than expected...but those that were stuck with only live TV got screwed.

It certainly was. More time spent on puff pieces and Ryan Lochte than covering some pretty compelling track and field activities. Here, let's watch the US jumper miss and finish 4th...there's your women's high jump coverage. I wouldn't be surprised if it continues in the same vein...people who want detailed coverage go on-line and folks more interested in people magazine continue with the nighttime highlights package. The downside will be more commercials on the streaming side of things.

I have read a lot of pieces recently that it was by far the poorest organized Olympics these reporters had ever been to.  The housing for the reporters and athletes leaked every time it rained, no hot water, etc.

That said thankfully nobody was hurt and nothing bad really happened.

Biggest disaster of these Olympics was Ryan Lochte and Hope Solo being giant morons.
