I'm normally pretty positive and not much of a knee-jerk reactionary, but I just can't see giving Shoemaker another chance to bury us early on like today. He really hasn't been consistently effective since 2014. I think it's time to realize that he was a one year wonder. He helped save the the season that year but that can only go so far. I don't know who they might replace him with but I'm afraid something needs to be done.

 

Sorry Shoe, you made me a fan of yours in 2014 but you're just not getting it done now.

For me the worst thing about today was that we got an unexpected win against King Felix yesterday then Shoemaker buries us in the first inning and doesn't even give us a chance. Dude gave up 7 runs in three innings with 4 in the first. Very disappointing.

I can't wait until Skaggs is ready to return. CJ has to be better than Shoemaker. Heaney, Skaggs and Wilson are all better than Shoe and yet we are stuck with Shoe. Shoemaker is just awful.

 

Nate Smith has been very good at Salt Lake so far, and is healthy. I can't believe he could be worse than Shoemaker at least until the others are ready to go.

2014 was a good year for Shoe, but it was a fluke. Shoemaker is pitching now like he has throughout his whole career in the minors. It makes so much sense.

After 2014, I was scratching my head wondering how he was so pedestrian in the minors and so good for those 22 starts in the majors.

I'm not scratching my head anymore. It was a fluke.

 

Sadly that seems to be the case. It would have been awesome if he could have won ROY in '14 because I feel like that was his glory season. With our luck he'll go to the A's in 2 years and become unhittable.
