Another vote for Sledgehammer.  I had him as my avatar for a little while.  I don't know if it would hold up now (I suspect nostalgia would still let me enjoy it) but I loved it back then.

my first impression was to mention i met TC from magnum PI once, but then i felt like a racist for thinking it.

Yeah, just read that yesterday. The guy had that perfect California surfer look, that played well in Big Wednesday with Busey and Katt. Unfortunately he also had that extreme alcohol and cocaine addiction that killed his career.

When that movie did not receive any Academy Award nominations, that's when I stopped watching the Academy Awards show.

I think they filmed some of that in good old Weed, CA.  My high school english teacher throws a football pass in it.  We "got" to watch his scene every once in a while.
