Organizations that receive government funding should not be endorsing candidates who can influence the amount they receive.  There's a clear conflict of interest.

Either no one can help candidates or everyone can. I highly prefer the former.

I'm not sure what makes them different than other industries and business that do business with the federal and state governments. Think of the military industrial complex and how much money they are given by the federal government and how much they lobby/spend said government.
