He's the scrappiest, grittiest, hard-working player in history. His uniform was always dirty and he was the sparkiest spark plug for multiple WS champion teams. His HOF case speaks for itself.

Seriously though, Jim Fregosi would be a more relevant Hall of Fame candidate. A 6 time All Star on the Angels that were a young franchise without a star and little hopes of seeing a post season. In his 10 year run with the Angels he generated a 45.9 WAR based on flawed statistics that really didn't clearly represent his defensive abilities.

As I posted in the other thread but people seemingly couldn't comprehend, they are writing one of these for everybody on the ballot. In some cases, such as this one, the particular player doesn't have much of a case. It doesn't mean the writer is saying each player should be in the hall, just making the best argument you could make in favor of that player.

It was an assignment to write one of these for every candidate. It is respectful to write one for every player.  There's nothing wrong with doing so. Nothing wrong with title either.
