This is a very insensitive remark.  TB might have been proactive, and thinking that his daughter might become his son some day and that he doesn't want to judge.  I think it's very forward thinking of TB, and reflects the times we live in with LBGT rights.

As a teacher, I come into contact with a lot of unique names.  Some stupid, some kind of cool.  There was a student named "Sevyn" a couple years ago, pronounced seven.  I'll let you decide on that one.
