It has been a poorly-kept secret for years in Florida that the Tallahassee Police Department has acted in concert with Florida State University to keep athletes, especially football players, eligible. There have been numerous instances of botched investigations, players allowed to leave the scene of DUI accidents and players simply allowed to walk away from crime scenes without arrest and no crime report.
