Plus, we just don't have the horses for a legit young player.  

 

Trop probably has more value to us than he does on the open market.

Yelich is really coming into his own. He definitely has a shot to be a really special hitter

Not sure why the Marlins would let him go but then again, they're the Marlins.

 

He's signed through 2021 with a 7 mil AAV, which is insane value for a guy as good as Yelich. Angels don't have the horses to go get him.

I agree. Marcell Ozuna is the more achievable target from the Marlins. I just don't see them parting with Christian Yelich. However, I'd think bigger and look at trading for both Ozuna and Dee Gordon. 

 

Start with Santiago and Kole Calhoun for Ozuna and Gordon. It probably takes more. I don't know, but that isn't a total mismatch in value. Trading Calhoun makes signing Heyward for RF imperative.

 

Ozuna - Trout - Heyward is a strong outfield. Gordon at 2B is a huge improvement.
