College Football 2015 season

Recommended Posts

I don't do a lot of research for bowl game contests. Generally I rely on the eye test (how a team played if I saw them during the season) or their general performance (if I didn't). This doesn't always work. I saw Cincinnati play Memphis early in the season. Although Cincy lost the game, they lost their QB early on and he freshman who replaced him set a school record for passing yardage in a game. They were an offensive machine, and only a late turnover did them in. So, naturally, I picked them in their bowl game and they got rolled 42-7.

You really can't tell how motivated a team is going into their bowl game, and therein lies the problem.

Qb Will Grier will transfer from Florida

An article today on the Orlando Sentinel about the sudden change in heart by Will Grier. When he met with head coach Jim McElwain, Grier essentially wanted a guarantee that he would be the starter upon returning from his suspension. McElwain basically told him that there are no guarantees in life, and they parted ways.

It takes a lot of cojones - and not many brains - to expect that you will be simply handed the job after someone else has filled it for half the season.

That worked out well, didn't it? Precisely why I don't bet sports despite living in the land of 24-hour sports books.

Within the past two days I have watched both of my former schools get their tails handed to them on national television: Oklahoma losing to Clemson by 20 and Florida losing a 34-point decision to Michigan in a game that was incredibly once tied 7-7. At least it is the end of the Treon Harris era in Gainesville.

He has better players at every single position than UCLA has on offense.  All he does is make short throws.  Or he throws to wide open receivers.  Clemson should probably cover that tight end instead of just releasing him down field like that.
