Why does this weekend series feel like a march to execution?

Recommended Posts

Maybe I am losing my faith a bit, or not as good of a fan as some of you here, but I feel a sense of immanent doom heading into this series. I am not a fan of of this coaching staff, or Dipoto's starting pitcher moves but I don't want to see the bleeding continue. I was very excited to see Hamilton signed, yet it seems like a Napoli like beat down by Torii (specifically) and co. is brewing. The last 3 years have shaken my faith, and I need someone, anyone to give me some hope (more than 140 games left withstanding) we can take this series. I just don't see it.

I need a sign . . . to let me know you're here . . . haha

in all seriousness though, i have the same feeling.  The way the Angels have pitched so far, Detroit feels like the '27 Yankees coming to town.

I'll give you 3 things to be optimistic about:

1) we don't face Verlander this series

2) when Torii faced Minnesota after signing with the Angles, he was awful against them and clearly rattled.  Could be the same thing this weekend back in Anaheim for the first time.

3) if this weekend does turn into a total shit show, seems like a good bet that come Sunday night/Monday morning, something will have been done (i.e. Butcher fired, or even Scioscia).

With the rain delay yesterday, that pushes Blanton's next start to Monday.  He was originally going to start Sunday. Imagine that game with the Tigers hitters during the day time.  He probably would have set some MLB record for most HR's allowed.

Need another post for the Tejas series!  Keep it up!
