When I was 12, my Grandfather (NEB alum) took me to meet Bob Devaney in his office back when he was the AD.  He asked if I wanted to come play for the Huskers, and of course I said yes. Well, I never got that scholarship offer dammit so I settled on a state college. Cool meeting him though, and something I'll never forget.

The only serious college I thought about was Nebraska. Had family that lived with us from there growing up and ironically they were one of the colleges at our high school college fair. Had some correspondence about wrestling there and had this hilarious idea to tryout for football.

Buddy of mine was on the three Nebraska national championship teams (95, 96 98).

He loved it out there.

What's the deal with the Caesar haircut? I can remember that being popular in the Midwest 15 years ago, and I saw it again this summer. I don't think it was Eminem, it pre-dates him, he's just some dummy with the cut. It was never a thing here. Just weird.

Spent a long afternoon at the stadium in Lincoln in 1976 right after Thanksgiving. Coldest I have ever been in my life. Of course, band uniforms don't provide a lot of protection from that kind of wind chill.
