Robertson and Navarro are both guys who can succeed in the majors if given the opportunity of a regular role.

in a weird way, I'm kinda of glad Trout isn't in there. He said he felt soreness when he swung yesterday. Best to have him rest now and get it totally healed rather than have it be a lingering issue the rest of the season.

Joyce can't be DFA'd because he was put on the 7 day DL. That was the reason Navarro was DFA'd. He's 29. Dude was dispensable.

I think Efren has been DFA'ed and cleared before, a couple years back. He may clear again.

Maybe they're making room on 40 for someone new? I thought I had counted 39 or 40 after the trades yesterday.

I would have thought Joyce was toast with 3 new OF'ers but DFA Navarro could mean otherwise...then again, I still don't see where Joyce fits in...

Navarro must have scraped Mike Sciosica's car, just like what happened with Grant Green.

 

It's absolutely mind boggling that Navarro was let go in order to keep Joyce on the roster.

They've never really been given the chance. How can anybody expect a position player to be consistent at the plate when they only play every third or fourth game?

I don't think Joyce can be DFA from the DL.

They are both 29/30 years old. Neither of them hits for power, neither of them can steal bases. At their current ages, it's not likely they suddenly improve into being quality everyday regulars. There is a reason both have been backups up to this point

 

Navarro will clear waivers and be sent back to Triple-A. No team will put in a claim for him because every MLB team has a player like Efren Navarro either on their bench or in the ir minor leagues. Him and Robertson are dime a dozen backup OFers

So the Angels are not losing Efren Navarro. It's a weird loophole in the rules that means he has to be DFA'd then optioned. It's complicated
