MY Top 10 (Disclaimer: Have not seen 42 yet):

1. Field of Dreams

2. Major League

3. Bull Durham

4. The Natural

5. 61*

6. Moneyball

7. Eight Men Out

8. Fever Pitch

9. The Bad News Bears

10. The Pride of the Yankees

Ken Burns' Baseball, for me, is a separate category, because it's not a movie, it's a miniseries. But I have enjoyed watching it on numerous occasions.

Yes! I own this as well and have watched it on my VHS many of times! You're not a real baseball fan until you own this series.

Moneyball is awful. The book is much better, as is usually the case.

You are wrong when you say Moneyball is awful and you are wrong when you say the books are usually better.

It's just confirmation bias or people who like bad books defending bad books.

Hunger Games was an awful book and the movie was a ton better.

Moneyball, the book was better than the movie, but the movie was still good. The Hunger Games was better in movie form (saw the movie for both first). Most of the time, the book is better, because it's hard to condense the time frame of a book into two or three hours in a movie. Something's always going to be left on the cutting room floor.
