Josh will be living in his own private hell, no matter what we think.

 

He will be lying in bed at night, by himself, with nobody there to fool.

 

He will have no wife, no kids, no real teammates, no fans, no self respect.

 

He can think he is fooling everyone, but the one person he cannot fool lives within himself 24 hours a day.

 

Don't let him fool you, he is in his own private hell 24/7 unless he takes his fix to ease the pain. That day is coming.

 

This is pretty much what has been running through my mind as I listen to Hamilton respond with arrogant indifference whenever anyone brings up his time with the Angels. The people who supported him most, he apparently cared about the least. Eventually he will be paid back for that attitude, and it won't be pretty when the crash comes.

 

He seems to believe that he pulled off the coup of the century, getting the Angels to pay him a ton of money to produce nothing and then forcing a trade back to the place he turned his back on before making the long trek west. Despite the smiles and the outward confidence, this guy is a train wreck. I fully expect to read about his death from a drug overdose sometime after his playing days end. The adoring crowds will be gone, the former teammates who he shunned will not be there, and it will be just him and the misery he has created for himself.
