He definitely touched it, but it had no chance of going in. Before I looked up the rule I thought it would be goaltending if any part of the ball was over the rim when it was touched. It has to have a chance.

The pac10/12 has only had one losing record year (2012) out of the last 10 years in the NCAA tournament. That's pretty good.

that is the rule. since it was touched before it had a chance to hit the rim, it's  goaltending. 

 

the premise is that if the ball hits the rim,  it then has a chance  to bounce in.

UCI was up 21-16 with about 5:30 to play to halftime, and then BOOM a 14-2 Louisville run gave them a 30-23 lead with 1:30 to go to halftime.

 

Update:

It's been a game of runs in the first half.

8-4 UCI run to start

7-0 Louisville run

13-5 UCI run

14-2 Louisville run

5-0 UCI run to close the half.

 

30-28 Louisville at the half,

with all stats pretty even so far, except for Louisville having 2 players with 2 fouls each (6 total) and UCI only having 3 total fouls.
