Angels Official Website: Aybar adjusting to life after Howie

Recommended Posts

Should be interesting to see what happens with Erick. He's grown into a clubhouse leader, and SB never grew as part of his game as everyone expected. His level of play at SS has actually improved with declining skill set. His arm isn't as strong and he doesn't have the same range but he's much more under control now and is more consistent. He's a better defender now without the flash. He still has above average range though and that shouldn't change.

One thing that may happen, I think is that Kubitza takes 3B, Aybar continues at SS, 2B is left unsettled and Baldoquin takes over at 2B. Or perhaps he takes LF from Hamilton in a year or two.

Keeping Aybar long term is a possibility.
