I have a feeling he is going to get massively overpaid, like a 3 year 30 mil deal. 1 year 10 mil absolutely. Should have never let him go. BTW he was right about his comments on us and the signing ofHambone.

What we should have done was completely skipped on the Hamilton deal and offered Torii the same money Detroit did. If we gave him a number of years in a contract that he thought would be his last season, we could have let him finish his career out here.

 

Trust me, I'm not the hugest fan of Torii, but I am sick and tired of Hamilton's lax attitude and waste of at bats. I would take Hunter over him in a heartbeat.

We could have re-signed Hunter in 2013, traded Trumbo for starting pitching (simialr to what we eventually did in the Skaggs/Santiago trade) then kept Morales as our lefty power bat, been no worse off, and had a lot of money left over.

I believe Hunter would be a very good fit for the team. You can bat him second or somewhere in the middle of the lineup. He still has a descent glove in the OF.

A good choice for DH if he becomes affordable. Also a good choice for the fans.

But both Pujols and Hamilton rotate at DH with Cron or whoever. We've even seen Trouty there. Don't see a full-time DH ala Ortiz.

I love Torii -- thought he had some great years with us and really felt we should have tried to re-sign him to a two plus one deal instead of giving Hamilton that big contract.

 

but now?  that shipped has sailed.

 

he'll catch on with another team and will inspire that team and its players to play well......that's what Torii does. I will always root for the guy no matter what uniform he's wearing.
