I think the GG awards, like all of the other mlb awards, are just based on regular season performance and are voted on before the playoffs start. He didn't deserve to be nominated.

The winners have already been selected. They just haven't been announced. All they did is release the top 3 finishers in the voting to make everyone talk about thr GG's more.

BBWAA will be doing the same the week before announcing its awards.
