Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart actually went to LB St. for a year in the late 70s after transferring from UCLA where he was a standout shot putter. 

 

 

 

Heenen and the late Gorilla Monsoon was the best announcing team without a doubt.

Some of their stuff had me ROTFLMFAO.

Gorilla would always say "Give me a break." or "Will you stop?" to Heenan.   Pure gold  

Not surprisingly, the two of them were very close friends away from the cameras.

Heenan had to step aside from his WCW announcing booth job the day it was announced that Gorilla had passed away.

 

 

 

Piper, Heenan, Savage, Jake Roberts, and Paul Heyman were the best interviews normally.

 

More pure gold, one of the trainers who works with the users at the company I work for once had Scott Hall follow her around a casino in LV (back around 2002).

Which is why Vince Russo is garbage.   He's the WWE guy who approved of Owen Hart's harness that carried him down from the rafters on the day that he fell to his death.   Apparently, Russo never really tested the harness, and wanted it to be easy for Owen Hart to get out of.    What?   How about focusing on getting him down to the ring SAFELY?

Even when I was a kid and mostly liked the good guys, I thought Bobby Heenan was hilarious. This, from the 1992 Royal Rumble is my favorite commentary. Fortunately it's been preserved on wiki quote:

(Roddy Piper saves Flair from a Jake Roberts DDT)

Bobby: I never thought I'd say this, but thank you, Roddy. It's a kilt. It's not a skirt, it's a kilt.

(Not long after, Piper attacks Flair)

Bobby: You no-good creep! You skirt-wearing freak! It's not a kilt, it's a skirt!

Sadly, in recent years Heenan suffered from throat cancer and has had most of his jaw removed.

I always loved the Macho Man's "Pomp and Circumstance".

 

 

HTM was already involved in a RAW vignette (as a face) a few weeks back, with faces Brodaus Clay and Sweet T (formerly Tensai, formerly Albert), and heels 3 MB, where HTM smashes his guitar over one of 3MB's heads.     I know, we have to learn new names?    It's always a pro wrestling staple, name changes.

 

 

I'm with DW, why is HTM back?   Dude could hardly wrestle back in his prime.   He was so bad that McMahon had to make him a heel because the fans booed him as a face.

I was at Wrestlemania 16 at the Pond. Greatest match i ever saw. TLC : E&C vs Dudley's vs Hardy's for Tag team titles

And of course I didn't include Demolition and NAO (kicks self in head).    And both of their entrance music was amongst the best ("Here comes the Ax, and here comes the Smasher.  Demolition, walking disasters." and "Oh, you didn't know?".) 

 

Although giving Barry Darsow (Smash) that Repo Man personna was lame. 

 

 

LOD's best days were earlier in the NWA/AWA, although they were pretty successful in the WWE, just not to the legendary level they were at in the 1980s.

 

EandC and the Hardys deserve credit for getting the ball rolling on TLC, with a legendary match back in iirc 1999 at a PPV, where the next night on RAW, the fans gave all four a standing ovation and it convinced Vince McMahon to make both teams faces at that time.
