Thats a good point. I dont know if its true or not, but its a valid question. There is a certain limit to how long guys can go before their arm will give. Kershaw is 'only 25', but the number of innings, mid 90's fastballs and breaking pitches on his arm is a lot higher than most. Hes 'mature for his age' so to speak, and I have a feeling his DL stint isnt going to just go away with rest.

Seeing so many big name young guys go down recently makes me wonder if the level of competition has gotten to the point where maybe even before they are drafted, pitchers are being used too much / too early. Like throwing breaking pitches too young, leading to problems in later life
