Andrew Brawnsine!!

His competition is a gritty veteran. I'd say he is doomed.

"Romey still had some things he needed to work out, we know what we're getting with the veteran based off of that one semi-decent year he had back in 2009."

if they lose andrew romine to waivers because they wanted to keep any of those other MI'ers, then the entire angels brain trust is incompetent.

edit: putting my chips on the table. as it stands now, i would keep as my bench: conger, pena, romine, stewart, shuck. if i needed a 12 man bullpen, then i'm deciding between pena and stewart. mostly, because stewart can play 1b, if needed.

But he couldn't have put on 17lbs legally. At least that's what some health experts here on the board have indicated.

Putting on 17 pounds is far different from putting on 17 pounds of muscle. No one doubts he could put on 17 pounds. He just has to eat like some of the people on this board. To put on 17 pounds of muscle he'd pretty much have to do the opposite of what most of us do. And even then it's iffy. Very iffy.

I would also take Romine over just about any of our other middle infield options, if for no other reason than we have him under control for six years.  And I also like Pena's chances of making the team.  Of course, Conger is a lock.

But I am not sure about the other two positions.  I don't think much of Shuck as a player.  Is he really the best option for the fourth outfield spot?  What about Boesch?  And I don't expect much of anything from Stewart.  I have to wonder if maybe Jiminez would be the better option.

Don't forget Matt Long, who already has AAA experience.    He may well be ready for MLB by March 31 as a utility OF.

Long potentially >>>>>> Shuck.
