They are linked as being very interested in Tanaka, but how the Hell can they STILL have money to pay him?

 

Kershaw will get a monster extension soon (250M+), all the players they acquired in various trades the past few years, Greinke signing, Ryu signing, they signed Haren for 13M this season.

 

They are making the 90s Yankees look like penny pinchers.

Mostly they are signing players now because they know they will be able to depreciate the contracts early in their ownership tenure.

Everything I'm hearing is that they're not are serious for Tanaka as one might think but you never know with them. One minute "not serious" goes to "nearing a deal with", after he's posted of course.

Their ownership is looking to maximize profit as an investment fund for pension funds and similar investments. The Dodgers are not a play you to them.
