Chris Young 7.25 million

It has more to do with his previous success than just the last year....20+ HR's in 4 of his years. If we based everything on just last year I think that most of the board would be against the attempted acquisition of D. Freese.

Playing in Zona helped his power totals...  He's failed to be an even league average hitter in 5 of his 7 full seasons -- career OPS+ of 94

I think this helps Bourjos value actually.  Young is generally a premium defender in CF that may have lost a step or perhaps struggled due to sporadic playing time in a pitchers park.  It's a bit of an overpay, but he could easily get the 1.5 WAR to make this viable.

IMO, it just solidifies Bourjos staying on the team.  He's estimated to be paid $1.1 million next season.  If $7.5 million is the going price, with the team in a financial cap, you keep cost controlled players.  Not trade them away and continue the death spiral.  Especially players, who as people keep pointing out, have flaws and are probably at their lowest value right now.

The Angels should fire Dipoto immediately and make you the GM.
