yeah, I really take it to mean that Howie is a goner. I think they have Green penciled in as the 2B next year.

Or Green is depth.  Which is always a good thing to have quality depth.  Plus Howie is only signed till 2015.  Green is still young, so learns behind Howie for the next 2 years, and if Howie asks for too much, have a competent backup already in place.

Definitely a possibility.  My guess is they intend to trade Howie and will dangle him this winter, but if the right trade doesn't materialize they'll hold on to him and perhaps try to package Green.

Green is a downgrade from Callaspo. Why else would Beane trade him and take on Callaspo money. Although,  baseball is a funny game and maybe Green pans out ... but don't hold your breath on this one.
