speaking of him, I really think his career would have gone better if he re-signed with the angels.   Ya he won a ring in new york, but his personal production has really gone downhill and I think the short porch in right has a lot to do with it.   He used to be a really polished and impressive hitter with power to all fields, and now he's become a left handed vernon wells because he tries to pull everything and swing for the fences

I don't think Bradley for Trumbo is an unreasonable demand.  Trumbo, for all his faults, will hit 35+ homeruns this year and drive in 100+, while playing in a pitcher's park.  He could easily hit 40 in Arizona.  Bradley is a stud prospect, but he has done nothing at the big league level and has terrible walk rates (not unlike another high profile Arizona arm who fizzled out - Bauer).

 

Skaggs for Trumbo isn't enough, IMO.  Skaggs has taken a step back this year, and who knows if he will ever be a mid-rotation arm. 

 

 

It's very unreasonable to think that. Bradley is probably now the top arm in the minors and a sure fire top 5 prospect for next season. Trumbo isn't enough to get a talent like that

Texas made a tough choice, and the one we should have made after 2009. They recognized the fact they weren't going to win anytime soon, so they parlayed their biggest fan draw into a super solid core. They accepted the fact they would be average or below for a couple of years but had a plan.
