Great start.  Perry has 9 goals already!  After the slow start he had last season, that is great.

 

Penner is now +13 which is also insane.  Leads the league.

Great road trip.  They missed Vatanen today.  Sbisa made some stupid plays and he just doesn't skate anywhere close to the way Vatanen does.

 

I actually thought the announcing crew was pretty good.  Loved that guy that did the color commentary, his scouting background added a lot of information to the broadcast.

Did you guys catch the post game. A couple high level Edmonton execs at the game. Is Anderson being showcased for one of those #1 overalls?

 

I know. We should trade for that new stud defense man (I think his last name is Shultz) they recently signed. What a steal that would be.

Have you guys noticed how good Lindholm is?  He is fearless and so good at getting the puck out of danger.

haha, you don't know who Pierre McGuire is, nate? He's pretty infamous among hockey fans, and a lot of people down right hate him. I find him annoying, but still knowledgeable and informative.

I still prefer if they trade Hiller. I love Anderson's height advantage. He and Gibson are the future all-star duo. Unless we're absolutely blown away by a team, I don't trade Anderson. Sbisa sucks. Cogs is more of a Dman than he is for crying out loud.

No way in hell you trade Andersen.  Hiller is gone after the season, one more year on Fasth's deal and he is starting to seem a bit injury prone.  Totally agree with Cory, Andersen and Gibson could be big time for the Ducks in the future.

Yeah, right now I'd trade Hiller if I had to pick one. I'm not loving the idea of riding a guy who has played 25+ NHL games (Fasth), but Hiller is a UFA, and Fasth is cheaper, so..

In the salary cap world, you have to keep Andersen.  Especially with the Getz and Perry contracts.  

 

Could the Edmonton group be talking to Hiller to see if he would sign an extension?  Especially since it was execs at the game and not scouts?

NBCSN gave the Ducks so much love last night. This morning I read on article from some twat on Yahoo who absolutely shoots them down. Gives absolutely no evidence towards their opinion. Amazing how little respect they get. If they were in the east they'd be the most talked about team.

I read that too Cory.  Penner RT'd it.  It was awful, basically they said because the Ducks come from behind and don't play consistently they are bad.  No credit given to the fact that they have played 10 of 15 on the road and it was a really long road trip.

 

He wasn't just arguing that they aren't the best team in the league, he said that they aren't good at all.  It was idiotic.

Yeah, she mentioned the Ducks having to come from behind way too much. Uhhh, last I checked we only have like 3 or so come from behind wins. We've been in control nearly every game. Chick needs to get her facts right.

Just looked it up. We've had 5 games where we've been down after the 1st period and won. Otherwise, we've been in the lead or lost.

Also, a 1 goal deficit after one period is nothing.  It isn't like they are struggling until late in the third before they score.

 

Everyone knows about the special teams struggles, those are obviously issues that needs to be resolved and I can see dinging them for it but saying the Ducks aren't good at all is a total joke.

I think that may be an issue. No shots are getting thru on the PP. Getz needs to be a goal scorer on the PP. Would love to see a PP of Perry/Getz/Etem with Beauch and Vatanen at the points

BB needs to toy with the PP. Go with Perreault, Silvferburg, Cogs, Vatanen, Lindholm. Put the speed in there and see what happens.
