Stupid Irvine Blvd construction

The stretch of Irvine Blvd. between the 133 toll road and a mile further east, has been under construction for TEN months now.    AND, for the past 2 months the cones have cut the lanes down and the speed down, even though no actual road work has seemingly taken place in that time.

I drive that stretch quite a bit. Never seems to be much traffic even with the construction cones everywhere.

They are installing a border checkpoint there.   If you are not Asian or middle eastern, you will be subjected to search and seizure of your vehicle and person.

That sounds like something the stupid guberment would do, cone off the road even though the only construction going on the past 2 months is the homes construction that has nothing to do with the long since completed street work.
