Off to a very rough start.

3-16, all singles.  Apparently they see him as a 2B because they signed former Indians 3B Andy Marte and assigned him to SLC.  It'll be interesting to see what they do when Lucho comes back.

Marte is an absolute puzzle to me.  Good power, good contact ability, solid plate discipline, he should've been pretty good. His pitch recognition simply isn't there though.  I don't think anyone could've seen that coming.  At least with Brandon Wood, there were signs, like his inability to walk, how long his swing was or how often he swung and missed. He was a great hitter but there were things to work on.  Marte didn't seem to have as many holes to patch and didn't have that timid approach in the majors we saw from Brandon.

Marte just didn't do enough with the pitches he made contact with, which is surprising as well.

I'm higher on Green's defense up the middle than most.  I think he can be an adequate backup option as a shortstop and a decent 3B and 2B.  I think it's universally agreed that he profiles better as a 2B than a SS in the major leagues though.
