Ippei fired by Dodgers after being accused of theft by Ohtani’s attorney’s

Recommended Posts

this is an incredible event. ohtani is such a fun guy to watch. you want him to be as nice as he appears in public, but you just never know. but i won't be surprised at all to hear that ippei is taking the fall for him.

EDITED because i did a knuckleheaded thing.

I think the story here is as follows:

  • Ohtani's name was leaked to reporters from the FBI investigation into the bookie.
  • Reporters reach out to Ohtani through his spokesperson for comment. Ippei gives the interview yesterday to ESPN.
  • The Dodgers get wind of this, realize Ohtani is implicated from Ippei's interview and is attempting to change the story from "Ohtani paid off illegal bookie for Ippei" to "Ippei stole the money from Ohtani to pay his gambling debt."
  • Ippei must have some incentive to go along with it.

I guess it's equally likely that Ohtani participated in some of it himself. But who knows.

one of the things my daughter found said it's possible ippei was also laying bets for arte. if so, stay tuned.

I'm shocked to read this gossip from you.

when a big story like this first breaks, there are always a lot of things thrown out there. she only saw it from one source, so i'm doubtful the owner of the team is asking an interpreter to include him in gambling, but we've also lived long enough to know that there are times when there's some credibility to stuff that most, at first, shake their heads at.

Lol, are you talking about this? If so, it's a joke because BTH hates Arte.

nope, not from him.

just double checked with her and she said it was a random response from someone, not a source that reported on it. that's my fault for not getting better details from her before posting it here.

too late to delete it here at this point.

my apologies to everyone.

I dunno, man. Sounds like a witch hunt to me.
