I guess I don’t understand why they need a lottery.  W-L itself was a pretty good indicator of who sucked and who needed higher draft picks.  The lottery hurts competitive balance, it doesn’t help in any way.

I agree. I mean it combats "tanking" for years as a strategy ... but other than that ... it hurts everything else. 

The first three picks of the draft are almost always impactful .... now it's just random.
