How Barria still has a job is insane. I'd love to be that bad at what i do and get paid like that.

At least he takes the field and works up a sweat. We've got other guys who walk around making snarky comments while pulling in $38 million a year. Now that's the kind of job I would like!

You would be in the minority if you are stating that the roster moves over the past 2 weeks were made to increase the chances of winning games in Sept.

We all have you to thank personally for decoding the motivation behind these waiver moves 12.5 games out of the last wild card spot with 24 to play.

Hey I have another question for you while we are blessed with your wisdom.  What is the mustard for located right outside the hot dog concession stand?

You'll have to subscribe to my blog for non Angels content.   Sorry to disappoint

I bet many have no specific ax to grind with Nevin when there are lots of other more obvious things to look at that made 2023 a lousy year.  But at the same time, Nevin has done nothing to establish himself as the “answer” to who is the best choice to manage the team going forward.

Don’t worry.  He won’t keep or lose the job based on wins and losses in September.

But he hasn’t earned the 2024 job either.  The team is going to be wide open to an upgrade, as they should be.

I told him, essentially, the same thing in another thread...

Maybe so, but if you pile this move onto the 5-6 other potential starters that were released, without any corresponding MLB proven adds, it is apparant that the FO is waving the white flag on the remaining games.

BTW I agree with this move, and the others, and would also not have a problem with releasing Rendon, or making him play out the rest of his contract in AA ball.

And why wouldn't they? The Angels have the worst record in baseball since the first of August, and this was after moves that were supposed to aid the push for a wild card (Giolito got shelled in his first start for Cleveland, so at least it isn't just us).

The old adage "Don't lose with old players" applies here. Might as well let the kids have a taste of the bigs and see what we have.

This has no bearing on the cap as he makes league minimum but was sent to the minors.

This saves them a few thousand bucks because they’ll have empty 40-man spot. He was making like $600 a day in AAA on the 40-man.

I think the Stassi move got them under by $200k or so, and then the Stefanic move got them another $80k of space (I think).

Putting a guy on the IL today adds a little and activating a guy decreases a little. And the difference will get smaller with each day that passes.

Thank you for correcting the record.   I was surprised to see that squid was also among the team leaders in errors.  Especially since he was the "defensive replacement".

That is good news.  Now, can we please get Adell or Adams back in this dumpster fire and stop wasting at-bats on Phillips.
