I like Gubicza, but he's definitely always a cheerleader.  Doesn't surprise me that he'd be hopeful regarding Othani.  I don't think it means too much, though.

He is being realistic. If the Angels lose this game, they are effectively 7 games back since Toronto holds the tie breaker. With two months to go and a difficult schedule where, as we are witnessing this series, the offense completely shits themselves, that is one helluva tall order.

I don't think anything is definitive yet with Ward, Rendon, or Adell.  In fact, the latest update on Adell said that he should be back at some point this season.

I don’t think the front office will do what I’m suggesting but if we lose today I’d trade everyone. So if my opinion on what I’d do is a bit then so be it.  There’s a HUGE difference between gaining 3 games with about 60 games to go and 6 games with about 57 games to go. One is picking up a game every 20 games the other is picking up a game every 9 or so games.

The Angels have noticeably chosen to only employ cheerleaders in the public facing positions.
