I appreciate that, it’s a long season.  But could we time the screwed up play so we win more games?

all teams do their fair share of stupid things over the course of a season and fans tend to think it's just their team.  We have been failing in critical moments with bad baseball quite a bit.

This team could easily be 5 games better than they are right now and that's with the offense yet to hit their stride and the SP in a free pass funk.  We've also allowed the 2nd most inherited runners to score.

It's been a season of missed opportunity so far.

another frustrating 'mother' of a loss in Cleveland.  GEEZ.

why do I sense that Anaheim is getting smaller and smaller in the view from Ohtani's rear view mirror as  he heads North  on the I-5 with a destination 30 miles and $600 million up the freeway ?

That may not be the worst thing that could happen.  Moving toward the "trade Ohtani"camp.

Waiting for Swordsman78 balls to drop and he man up and say Nevin fucked up this series.

Was that because he pulled Sandoval one hitter too early and let Wantz stay out 1 hitter to much, or because he put Estevez in last night, and should have pulled Estevez 2 nights ago when he was struggling (oh wait that worked out).

Was it because Walsh can't sleep so we don't have a true first baseman, then Rendon "felt something" last night which also took away our third baseman?

Was it because Neto can't field a beautiful big hop that high school freshmen make routinely?

Get over yourself.

Ohtani will almost certainly be traded to a playoff team this year, but in the meantime , his level of play will likely not affect the Angels playoff chances.

On the bright side, at least that'll open up the DH spot for Trout and Rendon.

That camp will be filling up soon.

Seriously - will the Halos front office really have much of a choice here.

they could take the pick of the Yankees farm system to give the Yankees a chance to extend Ohtani and 'steal'. him away from the Dodgers,

Thoughts?

The bullpen is not able to handle pressure spots?

Nevin is unable to handle a bullpen effectively?

Both?

I really think a 5 man rotation would help. Silseth was in BP and doing well. Now we put him back in rotation so you have another starter going 5 inn. Use Ohtani, Sandoval, Detmers, Anderson and Canning. You could have 9 pitchers in BP.

realistically, does the. Angels front office have much of a choice other than to move Ohtani before the trade deadline.   Force. the Dodgers and the Yankees to bid against each other and vastly over - pay for a rental in order to have the. upper hand and proximity to him to sign him long term -- plus he would be a heck of a rental for the stretch run.  Not sure what other clubs might be in the  bidding for the "Rental phase competition -- some club knowing there's no way they can compete with the big buck$ teams to sign him long term but feel 'it's now or never' for their playoff chances and are willing to part with a top pitching prospect or two to have Ohtani for two months plus the post season.

Agreed.  We have to at least "shop him".  After all he doesn't appear willing to starts talks with the Angels
