The Angels need to pick a lane. Either be good or be so horrendously awful that fans will be showing up with “SELL THE TEAM” signs like in Oakland.

Arte kept this team because he bought into the optimism that this team could make the playoffs.

If you’re not gonna make the playoffs, suck all that optimism out of him and make him so miserable watching the team that he’ll follow through and sell the team.

Dumb take.

You should know by now that’s the mantra. Just good enough to provide hope. Or terrible then a little better to make it look like they were in it til the end. Or awesome. Then terrible. Then mediocre.

Just enough to make us all think things will change.

If they are, they shouldn’t make as many mistakes as they do.

There’s a huge difference between being average because of mistakes and being awful. What prevents them from being awful is how good they are.

Yeah, I get that.

It’s just frustrating to see those mistakes because their baseline talent level is good.
