Gameday Thread: Angels @ Brewers (4/29/23 4pm): Detmers on the mound, Neto leading off, Ward hitting 7th

This team too many players that are out of options. Davidson, Suarez, Rengifo, Barria, Thaiss. Plus carrying Philips who has zero value. Ward needs to sit for a games so who is next OF. Looks like Rengifo for OF spot. Halo team not beating good teams so far and it looks like another subpar 500 team. Big question as season goes on what happens to Ohtani?

This team seems unable or just not good enough to build momentum and put together the type of streak they need to become a playoff contender. Take away the K.C./Oakland series and they haven't been able to build over .500.

If the pitching was consistent and the bench deeper they could have wo  at least half a dozen they lost. As well as have had their stars be a bit more clutch in those game defining situations.

Sure, it's a long season, only a month in. But we have a sample size that isn't necessarily encouraging. Frustrating how they play better teams and struggle. The better teams create more pressure and expose some of the team problems.

For instance, Rendon's defense barely saving a win over the A's. A couple of games later, a big part of a loss. Same with a lot of other inconsistencies from game to game.

3-9 against .500 and over teams is no way to go through life, sons.

Remember a couple games back so many wanted Barria kicked off the team?

Today he tossed three scoreless frames. No hits, one walk with 5 strikeouts and his ERA dropped from 3.38 to 2.76.

Watch him get shelled in his next outing
