the thing is if we signed him he would have flopped like Quintana, Teheran, Harvey and all the others

but his pitches are zipping in there like Alcantara

can't believe he would choose to sign with a team like the A's as a first choice so a lot of teams dropped the ball

I want to say that the A's were the only team that guaranteed him a starting rotation spot in the majors. He had 17 walks in 18.2 innings which is pretty insane.

The A's are a joke but they're the perfect fit for a guy like Fujinami.  If he's not offered big money or role, best to sign with a team that doesn't have any real aspirations, giving him plenty of leeway to struggle and develop at the major league level whereas a contender may just drop him if he doesn't look good out of the gate.

100% of the reason they signed him is hoping he does well so they can trade him for prospects who they'll then trade in several years.
