I’m not saying they’d target him because he has bad defense. I’m simply saying they have shown a willingness to prioritize offense over defense in free agency (see Schwarber and Castellanos most recently)

Hypothetically, they could sign Bogaerts and use him at SS for a season before sliding him to 3B and Bohm to 1B when Hoskins in a free agent in 2024.
